"1920 Battle of Warsaw" is a great historical fresco on one of the most important battles in world history. It is also one of the first in Europe and the first in Poland, the full-length production realized in 3D. The camera stopped by Jerzy Hoffman, Oscar-nominated master of great historical performances. The action begins in Warsaw, in 1920. Jan (Boris Szyc), poet and cavalryman, after receiving orders to go on the Polish-Bolshevik Front, proposes to his fiancée Ola (Natasha Urbanska), an actress of theater revue. Marriage gives young priest Ignatius Shell (Luke Garlicki). When John goes to fighting slavery. His fate lies in the hands of Chekist Bykowski (Adam Ferency), which embodies the cruel face of the Bolshevik revolution. History will end in a great battle that will forever transform not only the fate of John and Ola, but the whole of twentieth-century Europe. In addition to fictional characters on the screen there are also historical figures: Marshal Jozef Pilsudski (Daniel Olbrychski), General Tadeusz Rozwadowski (Marian DziÄ™dziel), Colonel Wieniawa-Długoszowski (Boguslaw Linda), and Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin. The director has managed to recreate the atmosphere of the 20s showing great patriotism and heroic effort of generations of our ancestors.
