Özet: Amerikan edebiyatının önemli isimlerinden Philip Roth‘un beğeni kazanan romanından uyarlanan dizi, New Jersey’de yaşayan işçi sınıfı Yahudi bir ailenin bakış açısından, bilinen Amerikan tarihinden oldukça farklı bir tarih öyküsü anlatıyor. Yabancı düşmanı, popülist lider Charles Lindbergh’in adım adım ABD başkanlığına doğru yürüdüğü bu alternatif evrende, II. Dünya Savaşı yıllarında Amerikan halkını faşizme sürükleyen politik gelişmeler gözler önüne seriliyor. Lindbergh’in faşist görüşleri Amerikan halkı tarafından benimsenmeye başlayınca, New Jersey’de yaşayan ailenin, nefret dolu bu ideoloji ile savaşması gerekiyor.
