Özet: Danimarka’nın Hirtshals kenti ile arasında düzenli olarak yapılan seferlerden birinde feribot limana yanaşmadan önce balıkçıların ağlarına kafası, ayakları ve kolları kesilmiş halde sadece gövde kısmıyla bir erkek ceset takılır. İzlanda polisi cesedin feribottan atıldığı şüphesiyle, içindeki yolcular ve mürettebatla birlikte kimsenin dışarı çıkmasına izin vermez.Yaşamı oldukça olumsuz etkileyen yoğun kar tipisi yüzünden, kasabaya ulaşım hava yoluyla da sağlanamadığı için özel soruşturma ekibi olaya müdahale edemez. Böyle bir olayla nasıl mücadele edeceği konusunda deneyimsiz polis ekibi artık kendi başınadır. Diğer yandan kasabaya Çinli girişimlerin oluşturduğu bir konsorsiyumla yeni bir liman projesinin temelleri atılmaktadır. Valinin öncülük ettiği bu projeye kasaba halkı içinde sert muhalefet yapanlar, topraklarının Çinlilere peşkeş çekildiğinden yakınır.
